Dirk was playing Silent Stan when Captain Nick and The Bozo were running amok. I have little reason to believe he has suddenly morphed into a capable CEO.
Nick was a very powerful personality. The quieter ones are often suffocated until they are given sufficient air to show their leadership capabilities. Everyone should be given a fair chance to prove themselves.
