@pear; the scorched earth approach of the USA, Australia, the UK and Israel throughout the Middle East justified as a war against terrorism shows NO sign of abating any time soon and may yet deteriorate even further.
The extent to which countries going all the way with hawkish Israelis in openly baiting Iran is deeply concerning - thank goodness others in Europe have taken a deep breath and stood up to bully-boys like Trump and Netanyahu.
As for comments of other posters, our forum is for robust debate and I'm happy to do engage in just that.
But once I detect the sorts of response from other posters you noted I pencil in that they're scratching for material to defend the indefensible - it's laughable just how often some default to the regurgitation of unsubstantiated opinion as if it were fact. Once the personal abuse starts the underlying message I detect is capitulation - like cornered tiger snakes they strike at whatever moves until whacked by a shovel.
