Still thinking the Chinese Government and Congo Government are going through the country to select mineral deposits with the best potential but not being actively pursued - explored or mined.
When both parties are satisfied announcements will be made that all such leases are to be renewed to the best applicant.
The best applicant will of course be Chinese in deposits that matter.
Present deposits being explored, developed or mined will be exempt.
Greater contribution of profits to the Congo may be a reasonable suggestion.
Should be reasonable and comparative to other countries as Congo needs to encourage even more mining and would not want to kill the goose laying the golden egg.
Anvil has legal (and one would surmise) binding contracts with the Congo Government.
It is a reasonable expectation that these contracts should be respected.
When the period of contract expires one would anticipate a reasonable extension - albeit with some additional contributions to the Congo.
If the Chinese and the Congo Governments are actively exploring fields for the Chinese to develop one would anticipate a lengthy period of investigation, discussion, agreement and then finalisation after which the much anticipated - feared? - announcement will be made.
