BHP half-year profit down 2.4pc
The world's biggest miner BHP Billiton, has reported a $6.7 billion half year profit.
That means the bottom line result for the Anglo-Australian resources giant is down 2.4 per cent on the previous corresponding period.
Despite a slowing in the global economy, BHP Billiton says there should be robust demand for commodities in the medium term, and prices will remain strong, although subject to volatility.
Share holders will receive an interim dividend of about 32 cents.
