Thought that I should add to the post from yesterday re Takeover. ( not suggesting this will happen but one never knows.)
Sometimes it can be the attitude of the Acquirer that effects the resolve of mum and dad shareholders.
They will sell if they think they have no chance of holding back the avalanche.
There are also those that do not want to be tied up in the mop up.
Once 90% is achieved the remaining 10% have to wait till mop up is complete to get their funds.
I have known this to take some months.
I have also been in takeovers where share holders were certain of another bid coming and the possibility of a bidding war. This pushes the price above the bid price, a point at which I have been lucky enough to sell at, the Acquirer actually paid lower than my sell price in this case.
What you will want is a strong hand with a large parcel to fend off any take over until the price reaches what shareholders will succumb to the temptation.
Nothing quite like finding undervalued companies that get taken over.
It's an arbitrage that we all hunt for and a very fast way to increase your bank account.
    Wack.
