Using information discussed here (which is not itself Law, but a discussion of Law [section 26BC of the ITAA 1936], in particular (pages xix, xx; Section 5.1)…
it appears the lending period cannot exceed 12 months, otherwise the security is considered to have changed hands, triggering a CGT event for the lender of the stock.
