I'm a bit slow admittedly, but can you flesh that out a little?

Most of us would credit the fuzzy wuzzy angels in New Guinea, the Timorese and Solomon Islanders before the Russians..

1500 Japanese troops in Kokoda.
5 million in Manchuria. Kokoda was irrelevant to Australian fortunes in the war. Seriously, read any history book about the war.
