Good info Garry. A clue to the current situation may lie in slide 5. The HRZ mineralogy has been most closely related to Marcellus and Haynesville and in the slide Marcellus is the only one that permeability recovery deteriorates over the time window. At only 48 hours it is a very short window, so we are left in the dark over the effects of a long shut in.
Water blockage induced by the frack water is top of my list, as the most likely cause of the difficulty in achieving flow. We can but wait to see if increasing the D P/driving force by gas lift will overcome the resistance of the capillary and osmotic forces holding the sealing water in the rock. My bet is it will
A super critical, single phase reservoir has strong diffusive properties, but needs the water out of the connected pore spaces that give us the permeability. The 9000 psi pore pressure has to push it out before the gas can flow through. Looking at slide 18 that may only be 15 millimeters to clear
As 88e have stated" it is gas in the reservoir", and gas can absorb into water in minute quantities but not diffuse through it. I believe we saw some of the absorbed gas at the chokes, manifesting as gas hydrates in the earlier testing.
