Last time I owned shares that were suspended pending the outcome of a "strategic review" the company was put into administration a few weeks latter (CRS)

Though its an interesting question, we have two companies in trouble with debt refinancing (CNP & MFS) both companies with inherent uncertanty as to eventual outcome, yet one is suspended, the other is not. I don't know the details of ASX rules, but you would expect some leeway for directors discretion here.
