    Blase, glad to see you didn't buy for the dividend, it’s very poor, around 1.5- 2% at current SP. They claim that they make up for it by having share buy-backs, but unless you have a self managed super fund or some other way of minimising your tax, they are of no benefit (once again only designed to benefit the wealthy). I do concede however, that the buy-backs eventually have an effect through the reduced number of shares on issue, but this generally takes 6 months to a year to kick in.
    You definitely don't buy BHP for its dividend.
