Anyone has ever been to G&D or Gemalto's facilities will know how tight the security is so this is nothing new.
Another very interesting announcement for the industry on Friday. For those that don't know, Hypercom was actually founded in Australia. Has been languishing badly in the last few years, PIN pads/terminals have been absolute dog products, no support. Ingenico buying them makes sense, gives them a bit more reach in the US market to compete with VeriFone, also similar in A/P (although VeriFone are a smaller player there).
Lack of desire for Thales e-Transactions makes a bit of sense to me too, Ingenico are strong enough in Europe to not have to buy market share.
