Yes, people want cheap goods, but even we could make reasonably priced quality goods if we had the right attitudes.
Sweden, with half our population and twice our labour costs had a thriving car industry exporting two brands around the world. Trucks and buses too. Fighter aircraft. Even a pop group (which for a while was their biggest export earner!).
