    Hmm...I am not sure what you are driving at here.

    The United States requires that applicants for citizenship declare allegiance to the the United States, declare they will follow our laws and uphold and defend our Constitution.

    We have every right to be sure that indivuduals who wish to be granted citizenship are sincere about this.
    We can discriminate and as a citizen I would demand that there be more due diligence on this issue.

    If someone from Hezbollah or Al Quaida or a Mexican drug gang wants to enter the US and become a citizen, I see no reason that
    this should be considered, no matter what tripe someone may want to serve up about me being xenophobic or discriminatory against Muslims or Mexicans or some other rubbish.

    I do not mean to be argumentative, the discussions seem headed in a productive direction; but I see no reason to retract or modify my previous statement.
