Ferrier Hodgson Partners Darren Weaver and Andrew Saker were appointed as joint and several Voluntary Administrators of the Western Australian gold producer View Resources Limited, and its wholly owned subsidiaries View Gold Pty Ltd and View Nickel Pty Ltd (the “Group”) on 8 February 2008.
The first meeting of creditors of the Group companies will be held in Perth on Wednesday, 20 February 2008.
The Administrators will be undertaking an urgent critical assessment of the Group’s Bronzewing gold project operations in consultation with management, the secured creditor and other stakeholders as a part of identifying the best option to maximise the return to all stakeholders.
The sale of the Group’s interest in the Carnilya Hill nickel joint venture will also be the subject of review by the Administrators.
The Administrators have only just commenced their review of the company’s financial position, so it is too early to comment on the depth of the company’s financial problems. They are assessing the situation and hope to work closely with all stakeholders in the Group to identify all of the options available to the Group, as they move towards the proposal meeting that will be held around mid March 2008, at which time creditors will decide the future of the Group companies.
In the meantime, the Administrators intend continuing the Group’s trading Bronzewing gold project operations with the ongoing assistance of management
