I think we are in this case on a similar wave length and both been exposed to similar happenings.

These are just my thoughts on what you wrote....
Stories just as the one you shared involve in many cases not the people we will be saying sorry to. They are as such errelevent to the debate. In the same sense there are some who are part of the stolen generation that also deserve no apology.
They are the folk who cheer, demand and take advantage of the support that is offered to them. Many sadly harbour resentment for things that simply never happened to them, but find good use for it as to explain their situation in life.

I still am looking forward to the apology from Rudd and am hoping it's message lands in the lap of the folk whom need to hear it.
My thoughts about how many of the sorts you mentioned will be moved to drop their suspicions on others because of the past is uncertain. The beautiful indigenous folk I know well are already living beyond this issue without this carry on.
This is all about reconciliation... I hope that is what is achieved.
