Now why would you think I was talking about you?

I wasn't going to respond but I can't let your last sentence slip through without comment. You write:

Don't get too upset with me, I may join you in another thread sometime in the future.. I'll bet you won't complain about that .

I don't mean to be rude, but I run my own race. It doesn't make a jot of difference to me whether you join me on another thread or not. I was buying up here well before it became the flavour of the day, and I remain invested based on my own view of the fundamentals. I'm well and truly in the green, so I can afford to be sanguine about the current share price.

There are many ways to skin a cat, and I respect anybody who can consistently make money out of the markets, whether it be through FA or TA. The latter is something I don't rely on, but I'm keen to explore it further. My own MO has been to go in early and to go in big. I think it was the Edwin Lefevre who said, "Be right. Sit tight". This means not being sidetracked by day to day gyrations. Hence, my signature "I don't flip for pips". To do that successfully I have had to look for deep, long term value. More importantly, it means that I have to have the strength of my convictions, so I'm not second guessing my judgement based on the current share price which, after all, is nothing more than a reflection of random buyers and sellers who just happen to be in the market at this particular point in time.

My strategy has served me very well indeed, including some life changing wins. It doesn't happen overnight, and it's not easy. If it were, there would be no money in it. One thing though; life is short. Once I'm out of a stock, I just don't have the time to comment on it, much less offer "guesstimates", with no foundation, as to what other random market participants may or may not be doing in respect of their CGT obligations. I have a hard enough time thinking about my own CGT obligations, let alone anyone else's. Anyway, to each his own, I guess.
