North Korea...great country, they have almost stamped out religion, they are getting close to being a socialist paradise.

Atheist.

Backed by Communist China and the Soviet Union in the old days. Home grown Communist-socialist without a lot of interference from those misguided Western countries.

If they could just get rid of that last 1.7% of the Christians and the stray Buddhists, they would approach 70% of the people having no religion. Very progressive. Approaching an atheist utopia. They do have a local blend of religion with elements of shamanism, Confucianism, and other ideas; but they do not seem to have much impact. The personality cult of the leader seems to be the main religious ideology. Like it was under Stalin.

They have a wonderful, secular national motto: MILITARY FIRST. Fourth largest military in the world. Nine million. If only they could get nuclear weapons. Uniformly cited as having the worst record on unmeasurable things like human rights, in addition to the measurable things like per capita income, and being able to feed their people.

Another great innovation is the state-administered CITIZEN LOYALTY INDEX. Fabulous.

Apparently they have no religious principles at all that can be identified. Another great example of the kind of country you can make without those silly books full of fairy tales.

I wonder where they get their ideas from.
