"One can see the results. They were not good for their societies or mankind in general.

Disqualification of values and morals found in the major religions leads to failures in the societies where they are absent. "

What do you feel about Russian society before the revolution ?

A population made up largely of peasants and serfs all deeply influenced by their beliefs of the Russian Orthodox Church and it's supposed values and morals, together with a small layer of cream made up of aristocracy, Church Hierarchy and Royalty ... presumably also sanctioned and supported by Russian Orthodox Church principles.
A very high proportion of the population would likely avow devout belief in God and Jesus.

However, on the surface it seems that the Church's role was to give hope to often wretched and starving people with offers of a just and better "afterlife", whilst supporting the status quo.
Perhaps the starving peasants were better off under that former system than Communism ... or vice versa, but things are rarely black and white. Not a call I know enough about to make.

As always, the issue is not just about written rules and moral principles but how government and rulership is implemented and then maintained.
Decent rulers will rule decently and for the benefit of those they serve and guide, regardless of the particular version of "God" or principles they employ.
