I think the developing technology as mentioned here is for much more energy dense batteries.
That is far more energy in smaller batteries. More companies than Bosch are working on this.
Already there is an EV technology for a 10 minute fast charge.
You mentioned Capacitors too, I would be surprised if there are not disruptive changes taking place there also.
Actual technical details are not my strong point, others may be able to elucidate.
