Interesting analysis. I teach basic contract law in New Zealand, where a travel agent has a duty of care (reasonable care) to their customer.I guess in law the relationships are very different for a stock exchange. I gather ASX and ASIC have no such relationship under Australian law.
There has been so few announcements or information on our investment, weren’t most of them really positive? We pay ASX when we trade. This story has developed through the AFR and HC and tonight on tv. Stock exchanges are volatile and there has always been risk. Though because of advanced technology would be interesting to know how common delisting or liquidation is on the ASX... just my crazy thoughts. Wasn’t BIG about to make the ASX200, must say I only heard discussion on that fact? There was also the top 50 banner we saw until recently on HC. All the major papers I saw hailed these guys a success.
Speaking to my brother today, I was unable to convince him it was an honest mistake. Sadly despite the circumstances IMHO most people continue to see it as gambling. And I stupidly momentarily overlooked the importance of diversification. Never again.
