Two points to make. Firstly Shell is unlikely to be successful in ever acquiring NXS or Crux. The FIRB would quickly see that it is not in Australias interests just as they did with WPL a few years ago when shell tried to acquire WPL for around $14 per share. NXS would never sell what is shaping up to be a very attractive longterm cash cow in a world where dwindling energy reserves are very hard to replace.
Secondly I am almost stupified at the current NXS sp given recent successes and the almost certain very significant reserves upgrades around the corner.In a normal rational market the sp would be closer to $3. I have no doubts that it will eventually go well beyond $3.So why is the sp in the doldrums.It has to be great buying right now.
