The people who actually helped children have not been condemned cerhob. Where do you see that happening ???
It is the policies of most of our past governments that stand condemned.
Also from what I know of the situations back then the childs welfare was generally NOT the primary reason for removal, but you are entitled to interpret history as you wish.
