We have a shed load of Li. The question is whether Tianqi is even interested in Li other than Spodumene. Spod gives their operation a higher margin.
We are in the process of finalising our mine design and it appears that the potential offtake partner is having some input into how the final design will look. It might be taking a little longer because of this and the contractors would need to be part of this process.
We have already cut a deal with LPD, but it's longer term. I just hope LPD gets seriously drilling so we can see if there's more Cs and possibly Spod at PEG 009 (which we get to keep). Whether DC or Craig has approached Tianqi or not is neither here nor there, cause we need to keep proving the resource up. Cs will likely fund the next big round of drilling and we should see once and for all if Spod is present at Dome. If there is a rich deposit, then we are home.
The vectors for finding Spod are present and the distal vs proximal theory is leading the charge. I have emailed DC recently regarding K as a vector for Cs, based on a research paper I was reading, which discusses the correlation between Cs and other minerals and how they are crystallised.
There is a hell of a lot going on at HQ atm and it's a gift that we have a valuable Cs deposit that a number of international parties are interested in. It is the ultimate mine for a junior. Low cost, high return open pit. 6 months operation max then onto the next. There is also talk of drilling the base of the pit to test for lenses at depth.
Not sure how long Tianqi will take to build the plant, but there will be a good opportunity for a local miner to sell to a nearby processing plant.
I remain bullish on PIO and will be buying again soon at these levels.
