EXPerience (amory's experience) has shown that the time to enter a short or long position via eto's is when the stock is nicely overbt or oversold on chart & turning, pref while the market overall is showing a similar tendency.
yes, both BHP & RIO have been mildly overbought, but still showing bullish tendencies. I would want to see how they react to the Dow firmness today & then make sure some kind of a top has been reached before deciding on a put.
nothing makes a punter look dopier than to buy a put on the basis of normal share-price fluctuation, only to see the stock go up by another dollar or two.
but that's only a personal opinion, not intended to deter anyone from their plans.
