Do you remember some years ago a couple were accused of child abuse in the UK by welfare aided and abetted by an Aussie female doctor? After living through hell for a number of years the parents were exonerated as it was discovered to be totally untrue and based on 'recovered memory'. The problem for those parents is that, in some people's eyes, there will always be an elementof doubt.

I also seem to remember, but can't recollect the details, of a similar occurence in WA.

We must be vigilant in detecting child abuse but we also must be very careful not to engage in a witchunt.
