Yep, cheap lesson. I lost about 2/3 of my net wealth when I hit the GFC with a fully geared margin loan and unshakeable confidence in the market and my own ability.
The losses would have bought three inner suburb Melbourne houses at the time- but I was convinced that property investments moved too slowly.
