bhp vs rio, page-4

Can't take too much notice of RIO buy or sell depth at the moment. Virtually all the decent transactions are coming from "off screen"

RIO is leading at the moment because it is the hunted.
The hunter's (BHP) game is to either quickly overpower with speed & strength .... (ie in the case of a healthy target, an offer too good for shareholders to refuse or in the case of a sick quarry, a chance to revitalise it) or to run it into exhaustion.

BHP's stated strategy is to run RIO to exhaustion (they have stated they are patient). Trouble is (for BHP) that so far RIO has at least matched their every sprint & turn as evidenced by the ratio margin widening from BHP's offer of 3.4 to yesterdays market assessment of 3.45 to taday's market assessment of 3.49
