A lot of speculation about Glencores interest in Ozl and their intentions. Their a miner
with an interest and focus on larger cap projects which may see them accept into the
offer as their minimalist interest in Avb being insignificant in the scheme of their
global footprint. However the fact they haven't yet rolled into the acceptance facility
is encouraging.
Not a lot of focus on Greenstones 16.69% holding of Avb. I personally think they may be the
spoiler. An excerpt from their website
........"Greenstone is a long term investor who understands the industry. As such it is not
subject to many of the short term pressures that drive dysfunctional investment behaviour"
These guys have a huge understanding of the mining industry, obviously are aware of the
long term copper supply issues and hold sufficient shares to block Ozl desire for 100%
ownership through compulsory acquisition.
Surely they hold some power and know it, and is in their investors best interests to exercise
that power.
