Because lithium is. not. rare. AVZ could likely be the biggest known resource. But if someone takes control of it to keep it off the market there is just far too much lithium in the ground around the globe to stop another explorer just finding another big resource. And another. And another.
Right now, the potential value of AVZ is having a big resource at the right time. Even with conservative estimates of both the resource and the time to production, this looks like it will be a big, close-to-surface, homogeneous deposit that can be online to produce however much is needed right when demand really begins to spike. But timing is crucial. There will be other really big deposits out there that can be found if they are needed.
