The Book of Revelation author wrote about the USA rather than of Rome 2000 odd years ago - really? Taking the writings in context people who lived at the time would hardly be interested.
If you were being persecuted would you really be interested in prophecies that were to take place in the year 4000. I doubt it. It doesn't make sense.
