This is not true, my father in law & my uncle have both been in Melbourne since the mid to late 70's working as tradesmen (Both Plasterers), they were making more money back in the 80's then they are today (I am not even kidding), tradies are the best paid people in Australia, always have been and looks like still continue to be, my University degree cost me time and big $$$$ and I still get paid less then a labourer. Go figure...
