    You should be comparing the CLOSE on 3 Jan with the LOW on 4 Jan. eg if the close on 3 Jan was say $1.00 and the low the next day was $1.02 then a common gap of 0.02 cents has occurred. Generally these gaps tend to get filled at some point. Hope that clarifies.
