You wouldn't want to have an ingot of cobalt, lest your kids lick it and die of busted-arse syndrome.
I held CMR mid last year, made 25% in a couple of days when HNC ditched its shares and I bought them on the dip. I held for a while, but when CMR announced they'd muffed the October start-up (now MID2008?!?!) I left.
I'm shocked to see this at a buck sixty or so. I agree with the guys touting the $18Bn - this has got to go up. But only when they sort their crap out and actually start making money.
I don't think the metallurgical risks are as huge as are made out. What's the biggest risk is continued clown-braining by the (mis)management, weather throwing another 4 week spanner in the spokes of the mill construction (remember last year?) and so on.
I worked out a rough figure mid last year, when metals were worth roughly what they were worth now, and came to $5.50/sh for fair value. Maybe when the next quarterly comes out and we see how far the (mis)management has put the project behind (4 months back, 3 months forward per quarter so far!) then maybe I'll have another tilt at this windmill.
All I can say is...the chart looks like it's ready to snap up to $2.10 if something goes right for CMR for a change.
