Generation assets get old and need to be retired and replaced or refurbished to extend life.

We have generation assets close to or at that point of life.

Replacements can be anything, but cheapest new build is renewable + storage.

We are transitioning away from coal, peaking gas plants will have a role but renewable will dominate due to cheapest capital and operating costs.
