As such, we expect prices to fall further as it becomes evident that China's demand will be more subdued.
Capital Economics said there were some exceptions including cobalt and tin. "We expect the price of cobalt to continue to rally this year on the back of strong demand from electric vehicle battery makers and limited supply. We are also modestly positive on tin's prospects. But in most cases, we think that metals markets are well supplied and that weaker demand from China will prove too strong a headwind for prices."
