Not confused at all. The costing comments were just to provide an example of how little revenue will be coming to OBJ, even if you double the wholesale price for the "genuine article". The fact is that this device will be replicated and sold cheaper than the original. People WILL buy it instead of the more expensive option and that will dilute P&G's revenue considerably. Olay is not Rolex. People wear a Rolex to demonstrate their wealth. They do not buy Olay products that sit in a bathroom cupboard to demonstrate how wealthy they are. Savvy or not many people will question why they have to pay more than double for a product that is ostensibly the same thing as the original. It's only an applicator! It's a gimmicky selling point for the cream. These fake applicators just muddy the waters even further as I'm sure they are being sold for use with ANY creams. And...BTW I hope you aren't still labouring under the misapprehension that OBJ is getting royalties from the sale of the creams. I thought that myth had been put to bed some time ago when management stated that royalties would only be paid on "products containing OBJ technology". The cream does not.
