Are you saying you don't believe in modelling based on historica data ?
How do you think anything gets designed these days ? Do you think they just make it up ?
Or do you think they look at historical ( and live data ) in order to design infrastructure ? Roads , dams , hospitals , powerstations , oil fields , gas fields etc .
All done via scientific studies and modelling .
