Any proposed changes to franking credits legislation that is being contemplated by Shorten and his cronies is not even on my radar.
Why?
1. Firstly - Shorten has to win an election.
2. If that happens - Shorten will then realise that winning the next election wont be easy when tampering with franking credits.
3. Once he knows that fact - Shorten and Co will then find some BS reason to stall any changes to franking credits.
4. If he is keen - Shorten will have to get any changes through the upper house in his first budget - not likely!
5. Once rejected in the upper house in his first budget - he will then find more populist things to do in his second budget.
5. Shortens 3rd budget (the last before the subsequent election) will be a 'sweetener' budget. So no chance!
Not sure why anyone would care one iota about what an opposition politician has to say about anything. Even the media fall for it - although most of them are dolts as well.
Hmm ... me personally ... I wouldn't use the casual musings of any opposition politician as a factor in forming an investment decision.
