If we look at this ASX release not in isolation, but in the context of other recent clarifications and trading halts, perhaps the message that the ASX is trying to get through to the AVZ Board is that it would be best if contractors and employees did not in any way act as a cheer squad for the company, especially not in a way that blurs the line of others being able to differentiate between what is:

1.) Enthusiastic support
2.) As yet not officially released company information
3.) Information that might assist in achieving lucrative performance right share price targets

I believe a person with a potential conflict of interest such as ML [yes he is a significant share holder, but he also is the holder of a significant number of performance rights that vest iff short-term and short-duration share price targets are met] is usually best served to completely avoid the perception of a conflict.

Hopefully, our new chairman will have a crystal clear understanding of continuous disclosure rules and put his foot down on any inappropriate disclosures by AVZ contractors and employees.
