    Law not enough to police device maker-doctor ties

    U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging is investigating the practice of payments and gifts to doctors from drug manufacturers and medical device makers, and considering a law that would require companies to disclose any such payments or gifts or face penalties of up to $100,000
