Hi TraderRR,
As this is a public forum, I'll stick to generalities rather that specifics. I am in my forties and while my wife has -110% interest in trading, she is very supportive which really helps.
I have no illusions about how tough it is going to be. I have only been in the market a year and a half, but very active for all that time. Almost every night analysing what went on during the day and of course often, where I went wrong. Any holidays I took from my work over that period, I didn't go to Tahiti, I spent all of them in my office trading. Boring as this may sound, I actually really like numbers and statistics and even surprised myself how much I have been looking forward to focusing more on trading.
Yes, I have a back up plan, several in fact. I was on a contract at work and even though they offered me an extension, I decided it was time to focus on trading. They said to me, if I changed my mind, they would be happy to take me back, even if it was part time. Or, I could just pick up another contract.
So it's the right time for me to take it on.
