The real question here is this, "is there a real risk of the project not going ahead due to environmental concerns and First Nation objections?" This will be a real test as to Canada's appetite for mining and any new projects must take this case into their jurisdiction risk assessment. This a great shame considering the many economic benefits mining would bring to the community and country. In SYA's case it is even more of a shame as it is focusing on producing lithium minerals so that the world could benefit from cheaper battery materials and advance the renewables energy space earlier. One would have thought that Canada could have been the leader in the whole battery supply chain. This starts at the mining stage.
