Let me try and explain my take on the Veritone announcement.

Firstly they have announced that they have developed a new API which is an improved programming interface for developers to access Veritone's aiWARE Platform. The enhancement (or breakthrough capability as they call it) is that the new API allows developers to now analyze unstructured datasets. Right? And with this capability they can now combine and analyse both structured and unstructured datasets together on their aiWARE platform.

The Computer World magazine states that unstructured information might account for more than 70%–80% of all data in organizations. Interesting read about the world of unstructured data here.

Surely there's no argument, the market for processing or mining unstructured audio, video and data is so big, to me, it yells out for the efficiencies of processing these zettabytes using our new NsoC's spiking neural network technology. With our unsupervised learning capabilities all this should be right up our ally.
