Given our tendency to continually review past events and judge them them by what we know today rather than what we knew at the time, I'm sure future generations with their greater wisdom will be critical of the current generation for being so limited in vision.
I'm also sure that the problems and solutions that prevailed during the era of the stolen generation were a lot more complex than what the rather simplistic all encompassing apology indicated.
There must be numerous well meaning and highly principled individuals whose efforts produced positive outcomes that are turning in their graves now having been effectively labelled as childs stealers.
Perhaps a national "Thank You" day could now be arranged so that all those whose outcomes were positive can make the distinction and allow those who have been unfairly slurred by the apology to return to resting in peace in the knowledge that they did not only what was neccessary, but was right as compassionate human beings.
