Warrego were focused on a tight gas play which was drilled in 93 at 3800 3900 m, the Kingia/High Cliff Sandstones is just below that. So when SN got access to the data he got Tony Cortis (M.Sc. Geology), who has over 28 years of industry experience with Shell International to have a look , the seismic had very little time & money spent on it below 4000m, so that's where TC got to work , there was a lot of time spent on re-calibrating the seismic & other things, when that was complete, he nearly fell out of his chair when he saw what was sitting just under 4000m, the Kingia/High Cliff Sandstones, a waitsia lookalike. Then the negotiations began & terms were agreed to & then the news of the Kingia/High Cliff Sandstones discovery had to be delivered, Warrego were very pleased with the discovery but it was a bit bitter sweet for them.
