Sorry Misty but that is not correct. Mix grains and pulses (beans) and you will get all the various amino acids you need. Grass has complete protein that sustains the biggest bodies on the planet. Humans can live on grass if there is no other food source. We could live on fruit and grass and be very healthy.
Greatest demand for protein is when a baby is breast feeding for rapid growth. Breast milk is 1.5-2% protein. Cows milk is 14% protein but the mix of amino acids suits calves which mature in 12-18 months whilst a human takes 18 years.
High protein diets are not required for maintenance of a human body, correct balance of amino acids is. Gorillas have a digestive system very similar to ours and are vegos. If you like the taste of meat then eat it because it tastes good but don't con yourself that you have to eat it or you will die, millions of people on the earth have never eaten meat and are proof that you don't need to eat it to live.
