Assumming there were multiple bidders, and that AED is actually still a valuable property, then whoever was bidding by bidding too low would lose the bidding to anotrher company.
So though the bidders could care less about us the stockholdewrs, they would still have to bid high enough to win. Bidding too low would cause a loss of Puffin to some other company.
