Yes and no.
CVI's projects have nothing to do with regions of political unrest or inter-governmental dispute in any way.
Of course, there is inherent risk in this part of the world, but it is a mistake to bunch Angola into the same basket as other African "problem" states.
Angola has a rather sophisticated government structure, as do their prominent business representatives.
Where CVI stands out above the crowd is in their repationships with both prominent business partners and indeed the highest exhelons of the government itself.
CVI has teamed with local business...in a sense, insulting themselves from many of the "issues" that might confront others.
For the Angolan partners to make money, so too must CVI.
Smyth has played his cards perfectly...starting with the Longonjo lease.
