Looking at the chart to me it looks like the shorts are just beginning to move in again.
Average for LYC is around 2% with recent peaks over 4% so 1% is nothing. Even more so if you look at SYR which has over 20% shorts or GXY & ORE at around 15% each and none of the issues that LYC has to deal with.
