No background in IT. Sorry Tech. So is it the blind leading the blind? I bloody hope not.
The truth is you don't really need a PhD or whatever to get a good appreciation of what this technology is all about. All you need is the luxury of time to read then re read and research all this stuff. And of course Peter and Louis have been very forthcoming pumping out all the information on the technicals to keep us up to speed at every opportunity. - except for their trade secrets of course.
The best advice I can give is don't get bogged down trying to comprehend any of the real complex stuff especially the algorithms associated with all this technology. Like the formulas used by Simon Thorpe in his papers on STDP. Just treat them like little works of art and keep reading.
